What a busy half term!

What a busy half term! Thank you to all the families who have attended our Christmas events in school over the past couple of weeks. It has been lovely to welcome you into school. The children have been working hard and making great progress. I have the privilege of seeing this first hand on a daily basis. There have been some fabulous lessons and pupils have excelled in their learning. We continue to develop our curriculum to make it the best it can be to ensure your children have the very best learning experiences.

Arbor

We will be using Arbor from January to support communication. The App will be used to share information initially via email and text message, in place of School Ping. If you have not already joined then please do so by scanning the QR code and follow the instructions, alternatively please call into the office where they will be happy to support your first steps in using the Arbor App.

Community Fridge

Our community fridge continues to grow in strength. It is open every Thursday during term time 1.30 - 2.30, you are able to come and collect a bag of food for free. Let’s work together to reduce food waste and feed the community. Entrance via the top pedestrian gate.

Keep Children Safe in Education

Here at Princeville  “Safeguarding is everyone’s business”. If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of a child please talk to any member of the Safeguarding Team: Mrs Furniss, Mrs Shaw, Mrs Majid or Miss Akhtar who will be happy to help.

Safe Parking & Traffic Flow

We urge everyone to be mindful of where they park. As the area around school gets very busy at the start and end of the school day it is recommended that cars utilise the turning circle and not to stop in the hatched area outside the gates. Let’s keep everyone safe and have consideration for everyone, including local businesses and residents.

Attendance matters!

Our school attendance has dropped a little bit this half term to 93%. Our school target is at least 96%. Please support school to achieve this by being in school everyday on time. This ensures the children make good progress and give them the best life chances in the future. Our doors open at 8.45 and children need to be in for 8.50. Children who have achieved 97% attendance and above will receive a treat to bring home today. Let's work together to have everyone in school everyday next half term. If you need any support with attendance please pop in and see Miss Akhtar in the office or Mrs Shaw.

Reception starters 2025

Know a child who was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021? Then please ensure you have applied for your school place by 15 January 2025.

Staffing

Today we say goodbye to Mrs Majid, who leaves us after working at Princeville for eighteen years! I would like to thank her for her hard work and dedication to the academy and wish her the very best of luck for the future.

Mrs Crowley who works in the office as our school business manager, is also moving on to a new job in January and we extend our best wishes to her also.

Mr Primmer will be joining us in January as our new assistant headteacher alongside Mrs Furniss and Mrs Majid. He will be teaching in year six alongside the current staff. Please take the opportunity to say hello when you see him at the gates.

Mrs Rafiq who currently works in school across a number of classes will be stepping into teaching in January alongside Mrs Sajid, teaching in Lovelace on a Thursday and Friday. We are really lucky to have her take on this role, she already knows the children well and has been getting to know them in year two over the past few weeks.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for working in partnership with us and for choosing our school for your child. Your children are a credit to you all and I know they will go on to be happy and successful in 2025. I look forward to continuing to live and breathe our school vision ‘Learning to make a difference’ in 2025.

Have a fabulous festive break and see you when school reopens on Monday 6 January at 8.45.
