18th December 2020 – New Teacher in Holmes

Dear parents/carers,

Following the news that Mrs Coote will be retiring, although not completely, I just wanted to write to let you know about our new Teacher in Holmes.

Mrs Juneja started on Wednesday, and has met and taught the class this week. I am excited to welcome her to the team, and I am also pleased that we have managed some time with Mrs Coote and Mrs Juneja sharing teaching; I am sure the children will have found this reassuring and helpful.

We’re sad to say goodbye to Mrs Coote after almost nine years at Princeville, but we wouldn’t want this to disrupt learning for our children.

There’s also a little bit of news to share about Bolt class. We were asked by Bradford Local Authority to take a small group in year 5, above our ninety places; this meant we needed an extra class, which we called Bolt (our Year 5 classes are named after athletes). Numbers have fallen a little recently, and we are now below ninety again, so I have made the decision to return to teaching in three classes. This will provide lots of extra time for Mrs Whitaker to support all of the children in Year 5, with catch-up work following a disrupted year.

I hope you have a restful and enjoyable Christmas holiday, and I look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.

Regards,
Ryan Lewis
